Landscape Architecture Registration Exams
(LARE)
The LARE and Computerized LARE (C/LARE) have been developed by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) to aid member boards in providing an examination that will assure uniformity of testing from one Board to the other. The LARE are designed to determine whether applicants for landscape architectural licensure possess sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to provide landscape architectural services without endangering the health, safety and welfare of the public. Click here for a step by step guide for the exams.
For information on the administration of exams please visit the CLARB website. You can also download the LARE &
C/LARE Notice (PDF) or contact the BCSLA office for details on the exam registration process and dates.
BCSLA has joined forces with the UBC Library in support of a book donation program. BCSLA donates funds that are matched by the Library for the purchase of books to help candidates prepare for the LARE and for the profession. The program has purchased more than 50 books and subscribed to many publications for use by UBC Students since 2002 and the program will continue this year. Contact the BCSLA for more information.
