Barcelona’s Bold Move: Reclaiming Streets for People

UBC Campus and Community Planning and School of Community and Regional Planning
Date of Event:
Wednesday, February 1, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Barcelona is implementing a radical new plan to reduce traffic by 21% and restrict vehicles to a number of large roads. This will drastically reduce noise and pollution, and free up nearly 60% of streets currently used by cars by turning them into spaces for people. Join Salvador Rueda as he describes this bold plan to create superilles (superblocks) to “fill the city with life".
