Coast Salish First Nations Cultural Day Aboriginal Tourism BC, Salt Spring Arts Council & members of the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce Feb 21, 2016 : 12:00 am to 11:45 pm

'Uy' skweyul - good day everyone! Coast Salish First Nations Cultural Day celebrations take place on Salt Spring Island, Saturday Feb 21st. Admission and lunch for Salt Spring community/ visitors on these traditional lands is by donation, which will help with some of the honorariums and travel costs for those who are coming to share teachings. This is a kid and family friendly event. Many Elders, knowledge keepers, Drummers, Dancers and community members from local Salt Spring bands will be joining us for fun and engaging activities throughout the day!! Shake off the winter blues with cultural connections and drumming throughout the day that will resonate within :) To learn more and help organizers get an idea of numbers please join this facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1761737644048273/ On the evening before: Saturday Feb 20 – 7 pm Fractured Land film screening with filmmakers' Q&A. Join us at ArtSpring for a special presentation of an award-winning BC documentary about a young Dene lawyer who is poised to become one of this generation's great leaders. A perfect curtain-raiser to Coast Salish First Nations Day!
