The Invasive Species Council of BC is hosting our exciting annual Invasives 2014 Public Forum on January 21st and 22nd .  In addition we are holding an informative and interesting Post-Forum Horticulture Workshop on January 23rd from 8:30am to 4:30pm.  We hope to see you there! LEADING THE WAY IN HORTICULTURE: DEALING WITH INVASIVE PLANTS
Session 1:
BC Weed Control Regulation Revisions: A close look at the proposed changes to the species lists
Speaker from Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (overview of proposed species and
consultation process)
Session 2: Understanding Behavior Change and it’s link to Horticulture
An informative session to explore the principles behind Community-Based Social Marketing as it applies to invasive species.
Session 3: Industry as Leaders
Speakers will provide an overview of recent horticulture industry initiatives to reduce the spread of invasive plants across gardens and landscapes.
Session 4: Gardening as a Pathway
Speakers will discuss initiatives to work with the public and gardeners to reduce the spread of invasive plants in gardening practices.
Session 5: Moving Forward: Building Next Steps for Industry
Panel discussion with industry leaders on moving forward to support the leading edge role of industry in reducing the spread.
