Passive House Design: An Introduction UBC Continuing Studies Oct 10, 2014 : 12:00 am to 11:45 pm

Learn how the Passive House Standard can be a cost-effective way to design and construct a building that is extremely energy efficient. Leave with a fundamental understanding of the elements of the Passive House Design and explore the business case for designing and building to the Passive House Standard, including total costs and long-term energy savings. This course benefits builders, designers, policy makers and professionals involved in sustainability or energy efficiency in the built environment.

Learning goals:

  • Following this course, participants will have an overview about the key principles and concept of the Passive House Standard.
  • They will be able to generally differentiate sustainable constructions from others and can analyze projects more in depth.
  • This course will help the participants to design and build sustainable projects.
