Urban Designers/Placemakers wanted for the 2016 Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place Local Host Committee 2016 Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place conference in Vancouver Jun 2, 2015 : 11:30 am

The 2016 Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place conference in Vancouver is expected to draw over 1,200 landscape architects, city planners, transportation engineers, public health advocates, elected officials, community leaders, and professional walking and bicycling advocates. http://www.pps.org/walkbikeplaces2016/ The Local Host Committee is currently composed of representatives from City of Vancouver Active Transportation, Vancouver Coastal Health, Translink, BC Ministry of Health, Centre for Hip Health and Mobility, HUB, and Vancouver Public Space Network. The Local Host Committee is looking for additional members to bolster the “Pro Place” voice and local knowledge. Project for Public Spaces is responsible for overall program planning, logistics and management, with the Local Host Committee playing a key support role and taking the lead on local marketing and promotion, recruiting local volunteers, proposing/developing mobile workshops, and encouraging potential local sponsors to connect with Project for Public Spaces. Local Host Committee meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month from 3:30pm – 5pm at the City of Vancouver offices at 507 W Broadway. We are looking for interested Landscape Architects with urban design and placemaking experience.
