Jr. Landscape Architect - Calgary

About the Role As an integral part of our growing Planning and Landscape team in the Calgary studio, you will work on a wide range of project types and tasks from visioning and conceptual design through to contract administration.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Planning & Landscape Architecture team, you will be responsible for the full range of project responsibilities including:

  • Preparation of design drawings from concept through to contract documents, tender and contract administration services oPreparation of 3D concept renderings and diagrams oPreparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, site analysis and construction reviews
  • Exploration of innovative design solutions as part of the creative process
Education: 
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA or MLA) preferred 
  • Associate (intern) member of the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA) or other provincial landscape architecture association preferred
Experience: 
  • Up to 3 years of experience in landscape architecture, ideally in a consulting environment
  • Experience with master planning and urban design is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & 3D modeling platforms is required; experience using REVIT an asset
  • Emerging level of design ability and technical knowledge are required, with an understanding of the landscape architect’s role in a consulting environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Demonstrable experience in conceptual design, design development and contract execution
  • Experience in proposal preparation an asset
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently as part of a team, a strong desire to take part in finding creative solutions that are environmentally responsible and technically sound
