Position Description:

As a result of our continued growth and full slate of projects, we are currently looking for a British Columbia Land Surveyor / Geomatics Engineer to fill the Department Manager position in Vancouver for our Geomatics Business Unit.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded professional who can apply established surveying processes in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing a diverse range of survey projects.  Projects may include municipal, engineering, legal, transmission, transportation, and construction surveys. Experience in 3D laser scanning, Lidar, GIS and mapping, remote sensing, and / or spatial data management would be an asset.

As the department manager you will work closely with our engineering business units to provide support services on new and existing projects throughout BC.  Furthermore it will be your duty to develop strong client relationships, manage client expectations, and ensure project deliverables, schedules, and budget objectives are met.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a commissioned BC Land Surveyor with current membership in good standing is preferred; however, a Land Surveyor designation from another province with the intent to pursue a BCLS designation is acceptable
  • Strong survey, project management, and financial management background
  • Experience in the provision of geomatics services and the management of geomatics projects
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills
  • A great attitude and demonstrated business development ability
  • Innovative and strategic thinker
  • Positive and professional attitude with all internal and external clients.
