Landscape Architect

ISL supports diversity and is an employment equity employer. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Experienced Landscape Architect to join our Calgary office. Reporting to the Landscape Architecture Manager in Calgary, the successful candidate will be joining an innovative design team. The successful candidate will work in our highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment with the firm’s landscape architects, urban designers, engineers, and environmental managers. Responsibilities: • Manage projects under the direction of the Landscape Architecture Manager • Participate and/or lead business development efforts including writing and pricing proposal efforts, securing new projects/clients • Oversee and execute project designs and construction management • Lead project design for landscape work, including direction of junior design staff • Coordinate and provide oversight of our field staff to support project construction / implementation • Liaise with clients, municipal approving authorities and contractors • Coordinate with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their needs. • Must coordinate with Project Managers on other projects when landscape architecture services are part of that larger program • Maintain project schedules and manage project financials • Oversee and approve invoicing/ billing of design and construction projects • Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and

Education: 

• Must have completed a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture (B.LA) at an institution accredited by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects • Must hold or be qualified to obtain the AALA designation

Experience: 

• At least 6-10 years’ experience in the Landscape Architecture consulting profession • Must be fully conversant in AutoCAD2014 • Must be self-motivated individual • Must have project management and business development experience; • Must be comfortable in the field on construction project sites. • Must have a valid North American driver’s license. • Must have strong communication skills and be able to work with a diverse group of people. • Fully conversant with Microsoft software applications • Organized, works well under pressure and able to deal with situations with tact • Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams; • Ability to multi-task is critical • Must be able to meet deadlines Please submit resume, cover letter and a copy of your portfolio.
