Landscape Architect - Intermediate

Responsibilities:

Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Vancouver, B.C. is growing and has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Landscape Architect.  We are seeking a candidate with experience in project management, design and business development who can offer creative design, professional practice skills, construction knowledge and who is interested in contributing to the team’s strategic plan

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships and play a key role in client management and satisfaction 
  • Identify opportunities for growth and strengthen the existing client base and service offerings of the team
  • Mentor and empower other team members
  • Execute and manage complex landscape architectural designs and work with others through design development and construction document phases to execute built work 
  • Serve as a technical design expert for projects and supervise and manage work through junior staff to develop and execute design 
  • Work with multiple disciplines in order to develop innovative solutions on projects
  • Plan and manage projects and tasks in order to complete projects on time and within budget 
  • Play a key role in developing the team’s business plan and in maintaining and strengthening the design reputation of the Community Development team
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture or similar certification 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the profession of Landscape Architecture
  • Registered Member of the BCSLA 
  • Experience working in a professional office environment
  • Experience coordinating production staff, client relationships and complex projects 
  • Experience with business development 
  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service 
  • Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects and an established network of clients
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Microsoft Office and an overview knowledge of AutoCAD  (proficiency in CAD not required)
  • A valid driver’s license for site/project meetings and inspections.
