Landscape Architectural Technologist

Our fast-paced Edmonton branch is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Landscape Architectural Technologist to join our integrated design team.  Our integrated design team plays an important role on our project teams and is committed to delivering high quality work on exciting and challenging projects that make a visible difference in communities throughout Edmonton and Alberta.  Specifically, our landscape architects focus on improving the quality of open spaces and communities in urban and remote settings.  We are engaged in projects ranging from parks and open space master planning and design, stormwater management and low impact development implementation, infrastructure development, land development and site planning for First Nations communities.  As part of the Edmonton team, you will be contributing your skills to our existing clients in Alberta and beyond.   

As a Landscape Architectural Technologist you will be responsible for preparing conceptual design drawings, 3D visualizations, detailed design and construction drawing packages. Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Supporting others in presentation drawing production and 3D visualizations;
  • Preparation of detailed design and construction drawing packages; 
  • Conducting construction management and contract administration services including site reviews;
  • Carrying out graphic production and design tasks and AutoCAD assignments with minimal supervision;
  • Determining project timelines and managing your work flow;
  • Communicating with project leaders;
  • Advising team on technical problems and troubleshooting; and
  • Collaborating with project teams.
Experience: 

Our preferred candidate will have a minimum of 4 years related experience and a certificate in Landscape Architecture Technology.  Preference will be given to those who have related experience in a professional service firm or consulting office environment.

In addition, we are looking for the following skills, strengths and interests:

  • High level of proficiency in the following software:
    • AutoCAD;
    • Sketchup;
    • Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop for PC; and
    • Microsoft Office for PC (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Knowledge and experience in technical detailing, drafting and construction specifications;
  • Experience with construction management and contract administration;
  • Strong graphic skills including experience using 3D modeling software and hand drawing skills;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Written and verbal fluency in English;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams;
  • Enthusiasm to participate in a collaborative approach to design projects; 
  • Enthusiastic about landscape architecture design, drafting and illustration;
  • Commitment to expanding knowledge and skills; and
  • Committed to learning through the ongoing achievement of personal and professional goals.
