Landscape Designer

The successful candidate will work within a fast paced, multi-disciplinary team for completion of planning, design and construction services for a wide variety of landscape architectural projects including sustainable community development; urban and streetscape design; parks, open space, greenways; environmental rehabilitation and restoration; cycling, pedestrian and trail systems; sports facility design; and site and detailed design for healthcare, higher education and transportation infrastructure. This position is ideal for those candidates willing to assume greater responsibility for project and team management in the long term. Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Vancouver, B.C. has an opportunity for a highly motivated and energetic Landscape Designer. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: - Master planning, landscape concept and detail design development, construction detailing, schematic illustrations and presentation of design work to the public, project stakeholder groups and our clients - Reporting to Senior Landscape Architects you will also provide cost estimating, detail design services, contract document preparation, tender and contract administration services including inspection and construction management for total project involvement. - Support planning staff on master planning, land development projects and official community plans - Contribute and participate in the development of a strategic plan for the Community Development team

Education: 

Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture or similar certification

Experience: 

- 2-3 years of experience in a landscape architecture consulting environment is preferred, however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply - A portfolio representing strong graphic skills - Proven experience and fluency in AutoCAD 2010 or higher - Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup is desired - Civil 3D and/or GIS experience considered an asset - Proficient hand drafting and graphic design skills along with above average presentation and communication skills are highly desirable - Ability to work independently and as part of a team and possess a strong desire to take part in finding creative solutions that are environmentally responsible and technically sound - Keen interest in working with multiple disciplines on integrated design teams - Those who are actively seeking their professional registration with the B.C. Society of Landscape Architects are preferred - A valid driver’s license for site/project meetings and inspections The Vancouver office is an energetic and diverse environment home to a small group of Planners, Landscape Architects, and Graphic specialists supported by a larger team of architects, engineers, and sustainability specialists.
