WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Landscape Designer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of landscape design projects, including but not limited to site measurements, base plans, planting plans, construction details, 2D and 3D landscape designs, and permit application drawings. They are responsible for actively selling designs, acquiring new clients, and retaining existing relationships.

  • Actively pursue new design clients
  • Sell design projects
  • Have consultation meetings with prospective clients to establish needs, wants and expectations
  • Prepare design quotes through our quoting software
  • Site surveys
  • Prepare 2D and 3D designs, construction renderings and planting plans using Dynascape and/or SketchUp
  • Present drawings to clients for approval or modifications in a timely fashion
  • Complete final designs, in a timely manner, to customer satisfaction
  • Assist in the sale of installation projects from completed designs
  • Work with Estimators to prepare proposals for install, as required
  • Meet with Project Managers & Clients as needed to supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines during the installation process

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Completion of Post-Secondary degree or technical training in relevant field
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in landscape design
  • Advanced proficiency in Google SketchUp, Dynascape, and Microsoft applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others effectively
  • Ability to manage around tight deadlines and still get the details right
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License

WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED

  • 2+ years’ experience in construction
  • 2+ years’ experience in horticulture
  • Experience in sales
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, surveys and specifications

POSITION DETAILS

  • Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 / hour (based on skills and experience) + Commission
  • Office location: 118 Garden Avenue, North Vancouver
  • Monday – Friday
  • Full Time, Permanent
