The District of North Vancouver is currently recruiting a Section Manager – Parks Planning, Design & Development to join our Engineering, Parks & Facilities Division. Reporting to the Manager, Parks, this position involves the leadership, management and supervision of our Parks Planning, Design & Development groups. As the successful candidate, you will assist in the effective delivery of development, capital, operations and strategic plans pertaining to the District’s green spaces, urban and natural park lands.
The successful candidate will be a sound communicator with proven organizational skills and be comfortable managing and supervising staff in a unionized environment.
This position will appeal to individuals with a minimum of seven (7) years related parks experience, preferably in Landscape Architecture, Parks & Recreation, Environmental, Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline. Candidates who thrive in a team environment with strong communications and customer service skills are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with managerial experience in the public sector or with Crown corporations.
The salary range for this position is $107,891 to $119,944 and will be commensurate with education and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and compressed work week.
