Zeidler BKDI Architects, a multidisciplinary office in Calgary, Alberta, has an opportunity for a highly motivated, creative, enthusiastic and experienced Senior Landscape Architect, with five to ten years of experience. The ideal candidate will be an organized individual who is able to work independently in a dynamic team environment on a variety of projects and tasks that include: site analysis and data collection, conceptual design, design development and detailed design, preparation of construction documents, project management, cost estimating, client contact and construction administration.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Confer with clients, engineers, and building architects to understand a project
- Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures
- Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software
- Select appropriate materials for use in landscape designs
- Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and energy usage
- Inspect landscape work to ensure that it adheres to original plans
- Seek new work through marketing or by giving presentations
- Managing landscape team
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited post secondary institution. LEED® AP status an asset, but not required
- 5 – 10 years directly related experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- Expert level skills in AutoCAD and other standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite are required
- Experience in Revit, Sketch-Up and Photoshop is considered an asset
- Takes an innovative and creative approach in solving problems with an ability to work strategically
- Ability to use sound judgment, discretion and professional integrity
