The CSLA Awards of Excellence recognize and showcase the remarkable innovation of our profession, and bring it to public attention. The Awards of Excellence honour distinctive design, ground-breaking research, sustainable landscape management … and much more. Our CSLA landscape architects revitalize derelict inner-city shorelines and fashion pedestrian-friendly streetscapes. They build avant-garde residential gardens and turn brownfields into sustainable parks. They shape our urban landscapes, spearheading city-wide planning and design. The BCSLA and the Professional Practice class of the UBC Landscape Architecture Program are sponsoring the Seventh Annual Shadow Mentor Day. For one day, students will experience the working world of landscape architecture by spending a day "shadowing" a professional. This is an eyeopening experience for the students and helps to prepare them for life after UBC. Students record the events and experiences of the day and upon returning to class report back to their colleagues. The diversity of practice and of the daily lives of landscape architects becomes apparent through the collective experiences of the class. Last year's participants all had positive and enlightening experiences. > more information
