Landscape Designer

We are a small Landscape Architect studio currently accepting resumes from qualified, enthusiastic graduates of landscape architecture to join our studio. We are seeking a talented individual who possesses strong design abilities, initiative, communication skills and an interest and aptitude in collaborating as part of a close-knit team. In addition to having strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and self-motivation, the individual should also be team- oriented and flexible. Candidates must have experience with the technical aspects of landscape architecture, including the preparation of presentation materials, design development, grading, and planting design. , a history in working on ecological projects within urban settings is required, focused on rehabilitating the ecological health of post-industrial landscapes and urban environments. Description of tasks: - Develop and prepare colour plans, presentation drawings, and 3D rendered perspectives; - Conduct inventories of existing conditions and document site analyses; - Develop designs and drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches; - Make decisions regarding vegetation and materials; - Assist with delivering complete drawings sets and specifications for execution; - Assist in the preparation of reports and project proposals; - Assist in developing renderings for promotional uses; - Build project models from CAD bases and collaborate with other offices i.e. architects, engineers Please send a cover letter, resume, and portfolio with samples of work to demonstrate design and experience via email Please do not call the office, we will contact you for if we require additional information. Education: 

Master and bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and/or urban design. Graphic Design Diploma an Asset

Experience: 

- 3 to 5 years professional experience in a recognized office in Landscape Architecture; - Software proficiency are required: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe CS, Sketch UP, Rhino, Renderworks, SuPodim, Vray, Vectorworks, GIS, JMP and other 3D modeling software. - Excellent communication in oral and written English - Overseas experience is an asset Ecological Capabilities: A history of working on ecological projects within urban settings, focused on rehabilitating the ecological health of post-industrial landscapes and urban environments, and . Experience in large scale and long-term master-planning through to small scale projects. Experience is required in the following areas: - Native Plants of Coastal BC Region - Migrating Plant Species of West Coast North America - 3+ Years’ Experience Planting Design - Beneficial Species Habitat (Flora and Fauna) - Pollinator Management within the Urban Realm - Plant/Pollinator interaction - Ecological Rehabilitation - Alternative Urban Management Experienced working with municipalities and community groups to develop research tackling economic and environmental issues, in developing biophyllic urban landscapes. - Municipality Collaboration - Community Groups Collaboration - GIS Development and Analysis - JMP Data Analysis - Statistics Analysis Proficiency - Graphical Data Representation - Grant Application
