Urban Ecology: Challenges to ecological restoration in cities

In this issue of Sitelines, Val Schaefer, PhD, RPBio, and Laura Biggs, MEd, CACE, served as Guest Editors.  They describe ecological restoration educational programs at the University of Victoria that encourage a sophisticated appreciation of the landscape with such concepts as novel ecosystems, “listening” to appreciate the inputs that define a site and working with uncertainty in restoration planning.  Other articles also address related issues. The August edition is being mailed now. The full-colour digital version is available here. A big thanks to all of the Guest Editors and contributors who put together a fabulous issue.  The Fellows Profile features Randall Sharp, MBCSLA (Ret.),  FCSLA, ASLA,  LEED©, AP, GRP. Thanks to Don Vaughan and Randy for their great work on that feature!  Thanks also to our valued advertisers who are loyal and terrific friends of the BCSLA.  Download the full-colour version here.
