The BCSLA Logo Competition is now closed. The Logo and Wordmark Working Group invited BCSLA Members and the general public to showcase their creative brilliance by designing a unique identity for our membership. A jury was established to look for submissions which reflect the diversity of the BCSLA membership. Ten shortlisted logos were then developed in Stage 2, where authors further developed their designs. The ten logo designs were available for viewing at the 2011 AGM and on the BCSLA website. At the 2011 BCSLA Annual General meeting, the BCSLA Logo Competition, as voted by the general membership, proceeded. Members of the BCSLA were invited to participate in an online survey for member voting and feedback. The results of the online member vote indicated that “Logo H” was the winner.

Moving forward, as outlined in the BCSLA Logo Competition Terms of Reference, a graphic artist may be hired via RFP, and, “the winning entrant may be asked to work with the graphic designer in the implementation of the logo or make any adjustments that may be required to make the graphics suitable for use.” As well, “the award of the Stage 2 prize money is contingent on the author working with the graphic designer and waiving moral rights to the work submitted. Should a graphic designer or firm provide the winning entry, the Society is not bound to move forward with that individual or firm to implement the logo, brand, or word mark.”

Sitelines Web Atlas
This Sitelines.org website presents a sample of landscape architecture in British Columbia that includes parks, public gardens, and urban design, as well as commercial and multi-family developments. This resource has been created to support the mandate and goals of the BC Society of Landscape Architects.
The Workplace Survey was carried out to gather information relating to the current workplace conditions of our Members. The primary purpose of the survey was to acquire current data to inform work being undertaken to update the Society's Fee Guide. In addition it is hoped that the survey will provide an invaluable insight into the profession and will arm students, employees and employers with up-to-date facts about the profession. We hope that the survey will be a useful and interesting resource for all Members of the Society and will lead to a better understanding of the profession in British Columbia.
