Public Art and its Role in Public Space

The presentation and discussion will take place on February 19, 2019 at 6:15 pm in the Multipurpose Room 1 at the Creekside Community Centre in Vancouver (1 Athletes Way, Vancouver). Creekside Community Centre is a few minutes walk from Main Street-Science World Skytrain station, several bus routes, is on the Ontario/Seawall bike route or there is pay parking on site.

 

Lori Phillips will present on her role as a Public Art Officer for the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission. Lori has 20 years’ experience in delivering, maintaining and promoting public art in North Vancouver and working closely with public artists, developers and Landscape Architects on a regular basis.

 

Discussion will follow on how public art can enhance public space projects, engage the public and creatively reveal stories of place and cultural identity.
