Creating a Heritage Conservation Plan Creating a Heritage Conservation Plan Nov 6, 2019 : 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm

A Heritage Conservation Plan is a mandatory document for development permits involving a listed heritage property or for the purposes of a Heritage Revitalization Agreement. It also represents a really helpful and thorough decision making process for owners of old buildings. A Heritage Conservation Plan clarifies how to sustain the historic place’s heritage values based on Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Heritage Conservation. The document utilizes a simple thinking process, which starts with describing what is there, its condition, what is happening to it and the principles by which you will manage it.In this course, Elana Zysblat will illustrate how to create a Heritage Conservation Plan using real case studies. Each project will be illustrated and analyzed from the research stage, through the owner’s plans and needs, the construction phase and the crucial role of the Heritage Conservation Plan in guiding and solving the complexity of a heritage project.
