Why Calgary?

The Economist Intelligence Unit has rated Calgary as one of the top 5 cities in the world to live in, every year since 2009. Calgary is surrounded by natural beauty, with world-class hiking and ski resorts just a 60-minute drive away. The dramatic Rocky Mountains provide the backdrop to the city's stunning vistas. Calgary has nearly 1,100 kilometres of bike paths and has 333 days of sunshine each year, the most of any major city in North America. The city is emerging as a design center with recent projects by Calatrava, BIG, Foster, Snohetta and Allied Works. With a median age of Calgarians of 36, Calgary has a youthful and energetic populace that makes it a vibrant city. Popular festivals include the Calgary Folk Music Festival, Beakerhead, and of the course the Calgary Stampede.
