The Role:
LEES+Associates is seeking a Parks, Recreation, and Trails Planner to join our team. In this role, you will lead planning projects related to parks systems, trail networks, and indoor and outdoor recreation services, primarily for local and regional government clients across Canada. Projects range from system-wide plans and strategies to special topics such as parkland acquisition, dogs in parks, recreation amenities, climate change adaptation, and biodiversity. Engagement with staff, elected officials, and the public is an important piece of nearly all our projects.
This position is for a creative, self-directed individual, interested in learning and growing into a leader in the field of parks, recreation, and trails planning and community engagement.
- 5+ years of experience post-graduation from a recognized Landscape Architecture or Community Planning program (or closely related degree);
- Registered or eligible for professional registration.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience in parks, open space, trails and recreation planning in the private or public sector.
- Demonstrated research capabilities.
