PWL Partnership is looking for an Urban Designer with a passion for resilient community planning and large-scale mixed-use urban design projects, with demonstrated experience working within landscape architecture, architecture and/or urban design to join our growing team.
You are a collaborative and communicative individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and creative environment. You quickly interpret high-level urban design concepts and visualize them through live hand drawing in design charettes, collaborative workshops and through 3D modelling and visualization. You have experience working within multidisciplinary teams on large-scale urban design projects with a strong focus on resilient, climate adaptive, place-based design.
You have a diverse design education with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and/or Planning and/or a commensurate level of training and education in a related field of study.
You have strong knowledge of:
- Land use planning and mixed-use development.
- Building/land use development codes, ordinances, etc., as they apply within various municipalities.
- Awareness and understanding of current planning and urban design trends and principles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, displayed through engaging story-telling, hand graphics and data visualization, including project narratives, diagrams and renderings.
- Proficiency in the following programs:
- Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- 3D modelling software such as Rhino and Sketchup
- Vectorworks, Revit and Lumion are considered an asset.
