Saturday, August 1, 2015; 11am to 1pm $21; Heritage Vancouver Members $15 Tour begins at The Commodore Ballroom http://www.heritagevancouver.org/#commodore Join 2015 BC Book Prize winner Aaron Chapman for Live at the Commodore and Senior Downtown Planner Michael Gordon and explore the evolution of Granville Street- one of Vancouver’s core main streets. The tour will comprise of 2 parts. One focuses on the creation of Granville Street, it's emergence as a shopping and banking street and then the transformation into Theatre Row as well as its continuing emergence as a renewed commercial street. The other part is a tour of the Commodore building itself focusing on the history of that section of Granville being a local of how the entertainment industry grew prior to Theatre Row, to what it is today. You'll have access to the backstage area and stand on the legendary stage while hearing unique, behind the scenes stories of the venue. There will be an abundance of photos and images, copies of Live at the Commodore, as well as a Q+A. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the author and go on a tour led by 2 extremely knowledgeable experts on the Commodore and Granville Street.
