About Us

We are a landscape architecture studio grounded in land-led, ecological, and culturally responsive design. Our work is shaped by deep observation of place, collaboration, and a commitment to climate-resilient landscapes that evolve over time. We design across multi-family, residential, commercial, and community contexts—creating spaces that are restorative, meaningful, and rooted in the living systems of British Columbia.

Our practice values thoughtful process, material honesty, and design excellence, balancing creativity with technical rigor to deliver landscapes that support both people and ecosystems.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Victoria-based studio. This role is ideal for a registered landscape architect in British Columbia with at least 5 years of professional experience and a strong design sensibility, technical leadership, and a land-first approach to practice.

You will help shape projects from early analysis and concept development through construction, working closely with clients, Indigenous partners, and multidisciplinary teams. This position offers the opportunity to influence design direction while contributing to a collaborative and values-driven studio culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects rooted in site, ecology, and cultural context—including Indigenous-led initiatives.
  • Develop land-led design concepts informed by site systems, climate, hydrology, soils, vegetation, and patterns of use.
  • Translate conceptual ideas into clear, buildable construction documentation and technical details.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities to respectfully integrate cultural values, land-based knowledge, and long-term stewardship goals into design outcomes.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, municipalities, and contractors to ensure cohesive and well-resolved projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources with a high level of care and accountability.
  • Lead construction administration, including site reviews and contractor communication, to ensure design intent is realized.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to studio-wide design dialogue, critique, and learning.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience practicing in British Columbia.
  • Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in BC, in good standing with the BCSLA, including possession of a professional seal.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other visualization tools is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of BC plant communities, materials, and sustainable construction practices.
  • Experience with Indigenous-led projects, community engagement, or land stewardship initiatives is a strong asset.
  • Excellent design thinking, graphic communication, and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative, design-focused studio environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation reflective of experience and leadership.
  • Flexible full-time or part-time work arrangements.
  • Opportunities to lead meaningful, land-based projects across British Columbia.
  • A collaborative studio culture that values design excellence, curiosity, and care for place.
  • Flexibility for remote work and in-office and on-site presence in Victoria.
