Breaking New Ground -  is a dynamic conference that will bring together landscape architects, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the bold ideas shaping the future of the profession. From cutting-edge technologies to ecological wisdom refined over generations, Breaking New Ground highlights transformative solutions that drive sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity.

Our stunning new host venue, the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre at UBC in Vancouver, will be our hub for three days of engaging programming, speakers and networking. Three floors of interactive spaces, packed with opportunities, sessions and booths!

Through dynamic discussions on emerging tools, community-driven design, and ecological stewardship, you will gain fresh insights and innovative strategies for designing, building, and managing landscapes in a rapidly changing world.

Breaking New Ground provides a platform for leadership, greater collaboration, and the exchange of ideas and insights that will shape the future of landscape architecture. 

On top of that, we’ll also be featuring a variety of exciting showcase booths as part of the conference – a great opportunity to connect with leading vendors, discover new products and services, and network with peers.

No Refund Policy

Before purchasing your ticket, please carefully review our No Refund Policy:

  1. All Sales Are Final – Once a ticket has been purchased, refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.
  2. Ticket Transfers – If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person. Please notify us at [email protected] with the updated attendee details at least 5 days prior to the event.
  3. Event Changes or Cancellations – In the unlikely event that the conference is postponed or canceled, ticket holders may be eligible for a rescheduled event or credit for future conferences, at the discretion of the BCSLA Staff.
  4. Force Majeure – The organizers are not responsible for cancellations or delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or unforeseen emergencies.
  5. Ticket Transfer – Your ticket can be transfer to another person ONLY if they are on the same price level, which means if you registered as an intern, the person whom you'd like to transfer the ticket to must also be an intern.

Photography & Videography Disclaimer

By attending this conference, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded for promotional and archival purposes. The event organizers may use photographs and videos featuring attendees in marketing materials, social media, websites, and other publications.

  1. Use of Footage – Images and video recordings may be used to document the event, promote future conferences, or provide educational content.
  2. Public Event – As this is a public event, attendees should be aware that they may appear in media captured by both event organizers, sponsors, and fellow attendees.
  3. Opt-Out Option – If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform event staff upon arrival. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee exclusion from general event footage.
