Call for Volunteer - Intern & Associate Representative

Are you a BCSLA Intern looking for a way to contribute your time and expertise?

We’re inviting expressions of interest from BCSLA Interns who are motivated to support and champion emerging professionals in landscape architecture. This volunteer role plays an important part in connecting early-career members with professional development opportunities, educational resources, and engaging programs throughout the year. Working closely with the Intern & Associates Subcommittee and the Board of Directors, you’ll help shape initiatives that support career development and licensure preparation across the profession.

The role includes coordinating and participating in regular subcommittee meetings, attending BCSLA Board of Directors meetings, and contributing to the Annual Report. Volunteers also support L.A.R.E. preparation through webinars and study groups, help deliver seasonal programs such as the UBC LASA Book Drive and the Philip Tattersfield Essay Competition, and lend a hand at conferences or social events. Activities vary throughout the year, offering a rewarding mix of planning, collaboration, and hands-on involvement with peers and students.

On average, the commitment is approximately 6–8 hours per month, depending on the season and scheduled programs. This is a valuable opportunity to build leadership experience, expand your professional network, and make a meaningful impact on the next generation of landscape architects. If you’re interested in contributing your time and expertise, we encourage you to submit an expression of interest by email to Ryan Noakes, Executive Director, at office@bcsla.org.
