COP27 SURGe

Cities are the frontline of climate change.

From the initiatives of the COP27 Presidency Sustainable Urban Resilience for the next Generation (SURGe):

"Though cities are a big driver of planet-warming emissions, they are also engines of climate action at the forefront of delivering solutions ..."

Landscape architects can contribute through their practice of designing urban places - to be nature-positive, harnessing nature-based solutions; to promote circular value chain; & to promote health.

Notably, one of the five tracks of SURGe is to improve equitable access to year round potable water, and grey and wastewater management.  Link leads to intiative page for more (15min. reading time).
