Arbutus Greenway Bike Tour

September 5th, 3pm - meet at w6th/Fir Street, Vancouver

The Arbutus Greenway is a north-south transportation corridor that will connect people, parks and communities from False Creek to the Fraser River. Join Kevin Connery MBCSLA, Landscape Architect for the Arbutus Greenway Project Team as he will share the City's vision to transform the railway corridor into a greenway for walking, cycling and other nonmotorized modes of transportation. What were the challenges in developing the design? What opportunities arose while implementing ideas on the temporary path? Open to BCSLA Members, Associates and guests.

Learn about the history of the project, the design vision for each character zone and the overall master plan. You can bring your own bike or rent of the many Mobi bike share bikes available along the greenway for $12/24 hr pass. Please pre-register for the tour and if you need a Mobi bike you should by the pass online on September 5th before the tour.

The tour will start at the eastern terminus of the greenway near the corner of West 6th Avenue and Fir Street in Vancouver @ 3pm. The tour will take approximately 2.5 hours with plenty of stops of interest along the way. RSVP online at https://www.bcsla.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=51.   Dress appropriately for the weather.  The tour goes rain or shine.
