The 2-Day Level 3 Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) course wraps up the learning baseline for participants. Course material will be presented in classroom and field trip settings, utilizing audio visual methods and site inspection techniques and experiences. Learning will be done in a "hands on" manner, utilizing in-class case studies and real-world syndicate projects. Topics of discussion will include:
- Avoiding Agressive Treatments.
- Internal Design & Layout.
- Retail & Business Districts
- Subdivision Design.
- Multi-Purpose Pathways.
At the conclusion of the course participants will be given a package of Architectural and Landscape Plans to evaluate and report on. A second CPTED Report is also required done on a site in the participant's home town / jurisdiction. Both assignments can be done at the cadidate's own pace and time. After successfully completing both assignments the candidate will be issued with a Certified CPTED Practitioner (CCP) certificate.
The course venue will be the Cloverdale Holiday Inn & Suites (Surrey, BC).
