About Renee Merrifield Wasylyk

Renee’s tenacity, determination, intellect, and ambition were represented by her graduating as Valedictorian from her first Master’s degree program at the age of 21. Her second Master’s degree in Business Administration was from the University of Liverpool (2011), where her dissertation was on Self-Awareness in Leaders and its Contribution to Corporate Profitability. Renee is a leader on issues of urban planning, health, leadership, water conservation and use, women in leadership, eradicating child poverty cycles, and is a frequent speaker and radio guest.

Renee was recognized as WXN’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada 2017 and 2018, EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year (Pacific) in Real Estate (2015), Business in Vancouver’s Most Influential Woman in Business in 2015, was 2012’s Maureen Ensers Future Leader Award winner, was recognized as one of the CHBA Canada’s Top 20 Most Influential People in Residential Development and by Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40 award. Additionally, Renee was 2008’s Business Excellence Award recipient for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year

In addition to her day job, Renee is on the Breakfast Club of Canada’s National Board, a board of member for the First West Credit Union, a founding member of the Okanagan Sustainability Leadership Council and on the External Advisory Committee for UBCO. She was a delegate of the Canadian Government to the United Nations in 2015. She was the Vice- Chair of the Premier’s Women’s Economic Council of BC, was a director for the Interior Health Board, was the Past-Chair of the Urban Development Institute (Okanagan), and the Past-Chair of the Economic Development Commission.
