WHAT YOU’LL DO…
The Design and Specification Specialist is a key driver of company growth through business development and specifications. Your primary objective will be to increase company revenue by embedding Waterplay product specifications as the foundation of project designs for bids, direct purchases, and design/build opportunities.
You will build and nurture long-term relationships with design firms, architects, landscape architects, and municipal decision-makers—serving as a trusted partner and go-to resource. You’ll also lead presentations, product launches, CEU sessions, and design charrettes to strengthen engagement and promote innovative project solutions.
The Design and Specification Specialist is responsible for creating Parkworks and Waterplay specifications for key design firm plans, including those for bids, direct purchases, and design/build projects.
In this role, your primary objective will be to drive company revenue by incorporating these specifications as the foundation of design for various projects. You will also play a key role in building and nurturing relationships within the design community. You will facilitate product launches, CEU sessions, and design charettes with designers and owners to develop effective project solutions throughout the year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive Revenue by securing Waterplay specifications into project designs.
- Cultivate and grow new and existing design firm relationships through regular business development outreach
- Review plan sets and make recommendations for product specifications to designers
- Develop feature/park layouts and project designs for design firms
- Maintain CRM data relating to accounts and opportunities
OTHER INFORMATION:
- The successful candidate will be required to work out of our Langley (6286 203 St C100, Langley, BC V2Y 3S1) or Kelowna (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC) office as required
- This position works Monday to Friday, 8-hour days
- This position requires travel throughout Western Canada and parts of the United States

- Post-secondry diploma, degree, or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years field sales and/or design experience
- Exceptional relationship-building and presentation skills
- Experience administering complex business-to-business sales processes
- Exceptional computer skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM system
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and valid pssport
