BENCH Site Design is seeking a registered landscape architect with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our 11-person team in Kelowna, BC. The successful candidate must have an excellent design sense, an enthusiasm for collaboration, and an ongoing commitment to learning and growth. Experience managing projects from schematic design through construction-phase services is required. Expertise in delivering complex construction documentation and contract administration services in a prime consulting role would be considered an asset.
Applicants for this position should possess the following:
- Registration with the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects
- A degree in landscape architecture, or a diploma in landscape architectural technology
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a landscape architectural consulting practice
- A thorough knowledge of design and implementation processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong listening and presentation skills
- Superb organizational skills, including time and information management
- An ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, and to direct and coordinate work within a highly collaborative team environment and a constantly evolving workflow
- Class 5 BC driver’s license (or equivalent)
- Curiosity, empathy and a sense of humour
Initiative, integrity, creativity, reliability, exceptional leadership skills, and a collegial outlook are the most important qualifications for this position. We anticipate that we may find this in someone who has only recently become registered as a landscape architect and is just beginning to manage projects, or in an individual who has several years of project management experience under their belt. As such, the salary range for this position is $80,000-$105,000/year, commensurate with experience.
