New Westminster has declared a climate emergency, and we’re ready to build a better future. The neighbourhood surrounding 22nd Street SkyTrain Station has been identified by the City for redevelopment, and this gives us an opportunity to fundamentally transform the area.
We want to create the first climate conscious neighbourhood in the Lower Mainland. To imagine this innovative new neighbourhood, we’re going to need some qualified help. We’re looking for a team of expert guides to help us imagine what a climate conscious neighbourhood could look like and show us how we can take the first steps towards making it a reality.
We need an all-star team of experts to:
• Develop, run and facilitate an energizing and innovative ideas competition, to be held in the summer of 2022.
• Evaluate the ideas. Create a process to evaluate and choose the best ideas proposed, using your team’s expertise in various disciplines, along with Council and community feedback.
• Create a draft vision. Summarize the entire process, competition ideas, and develop a draft vision so that Council, the community, and stakeholders have a chance to provide feedback.
The selected team will propose an innovative, creative, and considered approach to the work requested.
