A 30-year plan is being developed for the West End Waterfront Parks and Beach Avenue through the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the City of Vancouver. This tour, hosted by BCSLA members Kelty McKinnon of PFS Studio and Jordan McAuley, from the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, will be discussing the multiple layers being considered within the design of the project – from reconciliation, equity, wellbeing and pride, to parks and public life, sustainable mobility and environmental resilience. We will visit four locations and discuss the issues and opportunities for these spaces. The tour will take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for changeable weather and wear appropriate footwear.
The tour is open to all BCSLA Members and Associates. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and will be capped at 20 people. Please reserve your spot by contacting Tara Culham at [email protected] to register all participants (please no pets or children for this tour) by 5:00 p.m. PT on Monday, September 12, 2022. Once registered, all participants must complete and sign the BCSLA Walking Tour Liability Waiver Form and submit the form to the BCSLA office. Upon receipt of the Form staff will provide participants with the Walking Tour Information Sheet.
