Get involved! The following committees and working groups have openings:
- External Review Committee for the BCSLA Fee Guide (ERC)
Are you a landscape architect looking to earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs) while lending your voice to the upcoming updates of the BCSLA Fee Guide? Or are you an allied professional, perhaps working in procurement, development, or on multidisciplinary teams with landscape architects, interested in shaping a key industry resource? This is your opportunity to contribute your expertise and help guide the development of the final BCSLA Fee Guide.
The purpose of the BCSLA Fee Guide is to assist practicing Registered Landscape Architects and their prospective clients in determining and assessing appropriate professional compensation for services provided within the Province of British Columbia. The guide includes a fee schedule that outlines the minimum compensation necessary to uphold the standards of practice established by the BCSLA. It is important to note that this document serves as a guideline only.
The BCSLA Professional Fee Guide Subcommittee is calling for volunteers who would like to serve on the External Review Committee (ERC). The Committee will review and provide feedback on the draft BCSLA Fee Guide to ensure it reflects current practice and meets the needs of the profession. We are seeking volunteers to represent the following categories:
- 1 Architect (AIBC)
- 1 Engineer (EGBC)
- 1 Public Sector Landscape Architect (working outside the Lower Mainland)
- 1 Developer
- 1 Municipal Procurement Representative
- Up to 3 Private Sector BCSLA Practitioners
The Terms of Reference outline the Committee’s purpose and responsibilities, which include reviewing draft materials, identifying any gaps, and offering constructive recommendations to ensure the final Guide is clear, relevant, and professionally sound. The time commitment includes two virtual meetings (each up to two hours in length) scheduled for late September and early October, along with some advance reading of draft materials.
Interested in participating?
Please email your name, professional designation and/or job title, phone number, and email address to [email protected] by September 30, 2025. Please also indicate your interest in volunteering for the ERC.
