About the Webinar
The preservation of our night skies is under increasing threat from excessive and misdirected artificial lighting. As our outdoor environments grow brighter, the effects of light pollution ripple through ecosystems, disrupt natural rhythms, and degrade the human experience of nighttime.
In this continuing education session, Jordan Hall of ERCO Lighting explores how the design community can take meaningful steps toward managing and mitigating light pollution. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how wasted light impacts flora, fauna, and people—and how thoughtful, intentional lighting choices can help restore balance.
This session will cover the science behind night sky preservation, the role of color temperature and intensity in light pollution, and practical strategies to design with ecological and astronomical sensitivity in mind.
Why Attend?
Part of CDm2’s ongoing educational series, this webinar is tailored for professionals designing in and for the public realm. We believe lighting can elevate spaces without sacrificing the health of our skies or ecosystems.
By attending, you’ll gain tools to evaluate your lighting designs through an environmental lens and contribute to the growing movement of nightscape-conscious design.
