Fraser River Dialogue - Balancing Land Use on the Fraser River Fraser River Discovery Centre Nov 6, 2018 : 6:30 pm to Nov 7, 2018 : 8:45 pm

All land in the Fraser River basin is important for economic, environmental and socio-cultural reasons. But there is only so much land, leading to increasing pressures – and costs – around how to best use it.

That’s why our next Fraser River Dialogue on Tuesday, November 6th from 6:30 – 9:00 pm will be on Fraser River Land Use!

We have put together a distinguished panel for a “fireside chat” about this important topic:

·

Marc Ballard, Manager of Real Estate, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

·

Kirk Miller, former Chair, Agricultural Land Commission

·

Alan Martin, Director, Strategic Initiatives, BC Wildlife Federation

·

Bruce Hemstock, Principal, PWL Partnership Landscape Architects Inc.

There will also be opportunities to network with senior representatives from Fraser River industries (like FRDC partners Seaspan, Fortis, Kinder Morgan, Fraser Surrey Docks and Fraser River Pile and Dredge); local, regional and federal governments (including Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Metrovancouver and the City of New Westminster); environmental and conservation groups; and the real estate, planning and development industries (including Wesgroup and BOSA).

Tickets are only $25 and include:

·

wine and cheese networking reception (6:30 – 7:30/no-host bar)

·

self-guided tours of the new working river exhibit Journey Through the Working River; and

·

seat at the fire-side chat

Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://www.fraserriverdiscovery.org/frd.
