Senior Landscape Architect

SvN Architects + Planners is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Vancouver Studio. As we continue to expand our services in British Columbia, we are actively seeking a Landscape Architect with over 8 years of experience who has a strong design background, great project management skills and ample experience delivering private and public projects on the west coast.

Role and Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Landscape Architect is to work with our inter-disciplinary team of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and architects on behalf of both public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, managing and implementing landscape architectural projects at multiple scales, from integrated site design to streetscapes and neighborhood parks.
The successful candidate will manage a team towards developing and delivering a series of designs, ultimately producing construction packages and providing contract administrative services, all while providing mentorship to their team.

Qualifications 
•    Bachelor or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture;
•    Minimum eight years of landscape architectural experience;
•    Exceptional communication, organization and interpersonal skills, including staff management and project management;
•    Solid technical understanding of/ experience with landscape and public realm design, including:
o    Green standards and sustainable design practices;
o    Streetscape design and coordination between landscape and utilities;
o    Integration with land use and the built environment;
o    Transit integration and design;
o    Parks and open space design concepts and detailed development;
o    Application in city-wide scale contexts;
•    Proficiency in graphic tools including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Rhino / Revit. Experience with MicroStation and GIS an asset;
•    Professional registration with the BCSLA;
•    Demonstrated experience in technical design (ex. site grading, innovative stormwater management, irrigation strategies, appropriate plant species specification, construction details, clash detection/coordination with consultants);
•    Excellent proficiency with BCBC, ABCA and all other relevant British Columbia Acts and Regulations;
•    Proven experience in preparing construction specifications;
•    Demonstrate successfully constructed projects.
